ASTAL Institute on Writing for Young People

Standard

Each summer, ASTAL offers a five-day intensive focused on the craft of writing for young people.  Through lectures, writing exercises, small group critique, and mentorship, participants delve into the essential features of writing for young readers and how to hone them in their own writing.  Faculty members Kelly Easton, Mark Peter Hughes, and Peter Johnson, all acclaimed middle grade and young adult authors, work closely with participants during ‘these days [that] can change your life’.

The 2015 Institute takes place July 13, 14, 15, 16, and 17, with a special kick-off event the evening of Sunday, July 12.  There will also be a follow-up session during fall 2015.  Participants have the option of earning graduate credit for the Institute.

Early registration options available.
